Darnisha Yvette Bell was born and raised in a single parent home in Newport News, Virginia. She started kindergarten at Dutrow elementary school, but her mother later decided Yvette would benefit more in a private school. Consequently, from Second up until Sixth grade, she attended Denbigh Christian Academy where she made straight A’s. She went back to public school from sixth to eigth grade at Gildersleeve and Passage middle schools, where she maintained her honor roll status. During her senior year at Menchville High school, she was awarded “MHS Scientist of the Year” and she graduated from the “Class of 2006” with highest honors. She received admission with distinction to Christopher Newport University, where she was also accepted into the Presidential Leadership Program. She has always loved science and has developed an interest in psychology during her high school years. Darnisha will begin attending CNU in the fall, planning to major in biology and possibly minor in psychology.
