My educational and career goals are underlined as "dreams" and "visions" that I have of my future. Not everyone has dreams and visions of their future. I have had mines since I was thirteen years old.

One of my dreams has been to attend Howard University and to get a Ph.D Psychology by the time I get 25 years old. I also see myself as entering the military and even as a Professor at Howard University. Either will allow me the opportunity to give back to the community, which I believe is very important.

While in high school, I was a very busy person. I participated in various community and school activities throughout my years at Leilehua High School (Hawaii). MI was actives as a Peer Mediation. I was Class President. I was in the Junior Reserves Officer Training Corps (JROTC). I worked and volunteer at various types of community service work.

My dreams are visions are coming to fruition. I have been accepted at Howard University. I will begin in the Fall-2005. However, it will not be easy. I come from a family of six; with one income (my dad). My mother has been disabled for the past eight months. Next year, there will be three of us in college and tuition coming out of pocket; my dad’s pocket. 

I really need and appreciate this scholarship from Power in Praise Ministries. I have applied for over twenty-two different scholarship and my only lifeline is prayer.
